Dr Arpit Raswant is an Assistant Professor (AU: Continuing Senior Lecturer) and the Program Convenor of the Master of International Business at the University of Newcastle (Australia) and a Visiting Researcher at Lancaster University (United Kingdom). Before moving to Newcastle, he was an Assistant Professor (AU: Continuing Lecturer) at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. He is a former Korea Foundation Fellow at Korea University (South Korea). His research focuses on firm investment from social, economic, and security perspectives and has been published in top-ranked journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies (UTD24, FT50, ABDC A*, AJG 4*). Arpit is currently leading a research program on Space.
Previously, Arpit was an Assistant Professor (UK: Permanent Lecturer) and the Deputy Director of the MSc International Business and Strategy at Lancaster University. Also, he was a PhD Candidate and a Postgraduate Fellow at the University of Sydney (Australia). He is the recipient of the University of Sydney International Scholarship (RTP) and the Business School Research Scholarship. He is also the recipient of the Australian Research Council’s ITRH (SRH) Scholarship and the University Postgraduate Award (UOW). He did his bachelor’s degree from the University of Sydney, followed by a master’s degree with a thesis sponsored by the POSCO Asia Fellowship at Korea University. Arpit is recognized as a Fellow by the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) based in the United Kingdom, indicating his commitment to teaching. During his doctoral studies, he was inducted into the exclusive international business honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma, for his scholarly achievements. He is also a recipient of the Best Paper in Global Strategy Prize that was sponsored by Global Strategy Journal in the Strategic Management Society Special Conference, the Best Conference Paper Award in the Asia Academy of Management Conference, the Publication Award by the University of Sydney Business School, the Dean's Award by the Lancaster University Management School, the Emerald Literati Award, the Best Reviewer Award from the Journal of World Business (ABDC A*), and the Sustainability Award by the Deakin Business School. As a project member, Arpit contributed to Lancaster University Management School's Athena Swan Bronze Award application, which was successful. This prestigious award remains valid until 2026. He is presently an officer of the Research Methodology Shared Interest Group (RMSIG) of the Academy of International Business (AIB). His COVID-19 pandemic-related work received research funding from the Korea Foundation, an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (South Korea). He received the Students as Partners (SaP) Grant from Deakin University and the International Relations Grant (COALAR) from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Commonwealth of Australia (Australia). Arpit's work to strengthen cooperation between Australia and South Korea in the Space economy has been supported by the Australia-Korea Foundation (AKF), established by the Australian Government. Arpit has worked in various organizations in Australia, India, South Korea and United Kingdom. He also supported a cross-cultural educational initiative as the Executive Producer in the documentary on Japan that was globally launched in line with the Games of the XXXII Olympiad (Tokyo 2020; held in 2021). Presently, he is collaborating with international security and industry experts in the Space domain. |
